President's Message

Spring has sprung!

Spring has sprung in central Florida, which means it's a wonderful time to get outside and photograph nature! Our next City Hall theme (Flora and Fauna) aligns perfectly with the weather change and is even more reason to get shooting.  I like photographing flowers but I don't consider myself well versed on the subject of flowers. With that in mind, I found some links to tutorials and even an hour long video presented by B&H on the subject of floral photography.  I hope you find these links to be informative.

Photo Review Meeting

Monday, March 18, 2019
7 pm - 9 pm

Bring 5-7 photos from recent events or any recent photos you would like to share. Be sure to use a labeled folder with the date on a thumb drive and rename the photo files with your initials and a number (ex: OP-1, OP-2, etc.) for the photos you want to share. This will keep your photos together when they are being shown and make it easier for our projectionist.

If you have photos that you would like help with, bring them with you!  If there is time, our club members can give you pointers on what to try.

Field Trip - Gatorland
14501 South Orange Blossom Trail
Orlando, Fl 32837

The meeting time is 7 AM at the South entrance, south parking lot.  Early access pass is $25 cash, the early access gate is only open between 7:00 to 7:30 AM.

The famous Gatorland Bird Rookery was created in 1991 as an alligator breeding marsh. This unique habitat has grown into one of the largest and most accessible wading bird rookeries in Florida. Gatorland's boardwalks provide birders and photographers with close access to these incredible birds, allowing people to safely observe them and capture stunning photographs. For more information check out their website at gatorland.com.

After the main gate opens at 10 am, we will get together and go somewhere for brunch or lunch.  Email the club to RSVP and be sure to include your cell number. Hope to see you there.
